The KInetic Testbed for PLASMa Environmental and Biological Applications (KIT-PLASMEBA) aims constructing an open-source kinetic code for N2-O2 mixtures (in presence also of rare gases, Ar or He), providing the combined chemical and transport description of plasma charged / neutral species, both in volume and surface phases, for user-defined mixture compositions, pressure, radial dimension and excitation conditions.

In its final evaluation, the review panel stated
"(...) the goals of the project (...) have been properly achieved and addressed throughout the time duration of the grant. The obtained results have allowed the team to consolidate state-of-the-art kinetic schemes for N2, O2, Ar, He and mixtures N2-O2 and have been published in highly reputable international journals. The numbers of publications in international peer review journals and conference communications largely exceed the predicted outputs in the application form. Moreover, the relevance of the work performed has secured 4 models, 4 computational applications and 1 patent. The work was performed in close collaboration with international groups of reference and contributed to the training of young researchers, with 1 MSc thesis completed. (...) In sum, the research performed in the framework of this project was of very high level and the project's objectives were fully met."
